ReNew Your Community!

We love to share our passion for the arts and pass on the ways we’ve been equipped beyond our ReNew York community! If your community would benefit from some creative spiritual equipping, please contact us! We’d love to come and speak or lead an event wherever you are.

Creative Practice Workshops

Want guidance in a creative ministry practice or form of spiritual reflection? Invite us to host a workshop! We’ve developed a variety of tools such as…

  • Soul-Mapping

    • A workshop that uses watercolors and art therapy techniques to help people process their relationships with God.

  • Psalm-writing

    • A time to try writing your own personal psalm.

  • Overheard Hymns

    • A listening walk that takes audio from your city and turns it into a hymn.

…and more! If you see any blog post in our Practices category, and it’s something you want to try, let us know! The arts can be a powerful way to connect with God.

Artistic Retreats

Need a concentrated time of learning? We can help you host an artist retreat! We’ll help you plan a weekend of activities — from teaching on the theology of art-making to fun creative practices! Talk to us if you and your community are interested.

Screenings and Discussions

In response to complicated times, we created Motherland, a virtual film about a Chinese American family. Motherland won Outstanding Production in WTFringe 2021 and the 2021 National Women's Theatre Festival; and it also won best direction in Astoria Film Festival 2022.

This work was created with a lot of intentionality, so we also created an accompanying discussion guide intended for church settings, small groups, or youth. The guide unpacks themes like intercultural family relationships, and how the gospel meets honor/shame contexts.

If you’re interested in a private screening and guided discussion, reach out! We can bring it to your city, lead a virtual discussion, or equip you to have your own family conversations.
